Innovation in Education is the need of the hour

Today ‘INNOVATION’ is the desire and drive of every walk of life, be it business, industry or education. The country’s education sector is buzzing with new ideas, concepts and thoughts. Educationists are working hard to do innovations and bring newer ideas into the sphere. Most people aspire to study, not simply to gain knowledge, but most importantly, for a potentially better livelihood. Thus a new concept that is taking shape is ‘education for work’. There is a need to connect work and education. But there is huge gap between the desirable and available. Where are the efforts to train students & future professionals to be innovative?

Now-a-days innovative methods in vocational training are getting maximum value for job market. Traditional & mediocre Training offered by many institutions is losing its sheen as it under-employs. We not only need to build our capacity but also build quality skills. Therefore we should not only suggest but offer options to update & re-skill our talent. However the skills we teach today may not be relevant after a decade or so. Thus one important skill our student’s need to learn is how to adapt to changes. They should be taught how to reach in different situations, develop perspectives, build opinions, convert information into knowledge, open career opportunities, plan for the future and take right steps in that direction. Thus education is not just restricted to lessons taught in the classrooms but in life as well. We therefore need to train the trainers and build up our teacher training programmes. The training we impart is to empower teachers with pedagogical skills they need, to confidently bring their sector expertise to the classrooms.

18 Mar at 12:35 PM
Sashikala Once they start applying that automatically they start thinking of various other ways n means of solving things.
18 Mar at 12:36 PM
Sashikala For ex: In physics what they learn about fulcrum, center of gravity etc., will help in many ways in daily life, even while taking U turns while driving.

18 Mar at 12:41 PM
Sashikala Last but not least..learning basic languages Eng., Hindi.,thoroughly makes them survive easily anywhere on the globe..
18 Mar at 12:43 PM
Sashikala We can motivate d students by saying such simple things b4 taking up any topic in any subject n inculcate interest n curiosity.
18 Mar at 12:44 PM
Sashikala They will definitely overcome the inhibitions/inferiority complex/pre-conceived notions or fear for any subject n BECOME CONFIDENT not only of themselves but also of the subject n teacher.
